Established in Adelaide in 1980, International Testing and Certification Services Pty. Ltd. (ITACS P/L) provides testing, certification, calibration and metrology facilities for the electrical industry within Australia and worldwide.

TESTING

ITACS performs electrical safety testing for certification purposes of electrical and telecommunications, accessories and appliances for households, commercial and industrial use.

Staff comprises of engineers and technicians who have many years experience that includes representation on Standards Australia and IEC Technical Committees for electrical accessories, appliances and luminaires.

ITACS is accredited by the National Association of Testing Authorities of Australia NATA to ISO/IEC/AS 17025: General Requirements for the competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories. ITACS Test Reports are recognised worldwide:

  • Australia and New Zealand Electrical Regulatory Authorities
  • South East Asia including Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia etc.
  • South Africa
  • Europe
  • Lloyds Register of Shipping

CERTIFICATION

ITACS issues Certificates of Conformity and has been accredited by the Joint Accreditation Scheme Australia and New Zealand (JASANZ) to ISO/IEC Guide 65 for product certification.

ITACS is also recognised by the European Community as a Conformity Assessment Body for assessments to the Low Voltage Directive (LVD). ITACS issues certificates for the AUS Ex, ANZ Ex and IEC Ex Certification Schemes for Hazardous Area Equipment (HAE). ITACS is recognised by IEC Ex as a Certification Body.

ITACS has offices and test facilities in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and China.

INDEPENDENCE

Third party assessment by NATA and JASANZ and IEC Ex has established ITACS’s independence from any manufacturer with regard to impartiality, technical competence and conflict of interests.
